Fewer people going on vacation this spring

Due to the economic crisis this year, around 1.4 million Dutch people go on vacation this spring, which is 100,000 fewer than last year.

Half of the people who go on vacation will just stay in the Netherlands, according to the expectation o the Dutch Bureau of Tourism and Conventions. There are fewer people going abroad during spring break.

Half of the tourists who stay in the Netherlands rent a bungalow or vacation house. About 30% choose a hotel.

The spring vacation is from 18 to 26 February for the region of Central and Southern Netherlands. For the northern region, it is from 25 February to 4 March.
