
Dutch students have become accustomed to the use of student ov-chip card if they take the train. Figures from the Dutch Railways NS indicate that 90 percent of students check in and check out with the card. This is compulsory for 650,000 since January 1.
“That is really good. We are extremely happy with it,” said a spokesman for the NS. The compulsory checking in and out is already applied for local public transport such as bus, tram and metro.
