Weather is too cold for penguins

Almost all the black-footed penguins at the Burgers’ Zoo in Arhnem were caught and brought inside on Friday morning. It is too cold for the animals who are not from the Antarctica but in South Africa.

Four Penguin couples were already brooding or had children already. They are allowed to stay outside in their nest in the rocks, but the keepers have packed the nest with bundles of sticks and wooden planks.

For the next night, the temperature will be -14 degrees with east winds and much snow in Arnhem, which is too cold for the penguins to survive.
