Police want tougher uniforms

The Dutch police want to get rid of their boring outfit. They want a tougher uniform which could radiate more power and authority on the street, according to Gerrit van der Kamp, president of police union ACP.

According to him, a survey among the agents shows that the current police uniform is uncomfortable and is not functional. Therefore, they have required for a new outfit.

Police want to exchange their cap for a beret. The shoes should be replaced by solid, half boots. The trousers should also be replaced by some tougher and modern variant.

“In a nutshell, it means that clothing in the year of 2012 should be comfortable, function and radiates more than the current police uniform,”  said Van der kamp.
