Young homosexuals earlier out of the closet

Young people come out of the closet earlier now, despite of the often negative view of homosexuality.

The age at which boys first tell someone that they like the same sex dropped from nearly 17,8 to 16,6 years old. For girls, it decreased from 16,3 to 15,9 years old, according to a research on more than 8000 young people between 12 and 25 years old by Rutgers WPF and Soa Aids Nederland.

The acceptance of gay youth still remains low. Nearly all young people find it fine for a girl and a boy kissing on the street, but when it comes to two boys, half of the boys and 16% of the girls find it not ok.
