The university wants to remove parts of courses and some courses even completely disappeared, according to the newspaper. Students are also allowed to make compensation with a sufficient result for one course for another insufficient course.
The students of TU Delft are the slowest students in the Country. Only one fourth of the students would get an undergraduate degree, for which it normally takes three years.
Wouter Verbeek, vice chaireman of the Delft student union, is concerned that the studies would “worth less”. Moreover, there is “less good engineering graduates, while the industry is just so content,” said Verbeek.
Education Director Aldert Kamp does not share the concerns. “The level does down. But the question is whether you are a bad engineer if you get a 5 for a cours,” said Kamp in de Volkskrant.
