The construction of the China Pavilion for Floriade 2012 has been officially launched on 11th of November in Venlo. Representatives from the Chinese Embassy, the China Flower Association and the Floriade organization were present at the launching ceremony.

China will participate with an entry of over 1,500m2, which makes it one of the largest participants in the World Horticultural Expo 2012. The contract was signed at the World Expo in Shanghai last year.

Paul Beck, Managing Director of the Floriade called China as one of the pillars of the International Floriade. “China’s presence at the Floriade will be a huge boost to the business,” said Beck.

Zhang Jinxiong from the Chinese Embassy said it was of great importance that China participates in the World Horticultural Expo. “The Netherlands is our largest trading partner in Europe after Germany. The trade between the two countries is growing. Next year we will celebrate 40 years trade of our trade relations. The Floriade comes therefore at an excellent time. Many delegations from China will come to Venlo in 2012 and the visitors can enjoy beautiful typical Chinese scenery.”
