‘Smokers need to pay more health insurance premium’

Nearly 55 percent of Dutch people think that smokers and alcohol drinkers should pay more health insurance premium.
Nearly one quarter of Dutch support for the idea of higher health insurance premium for people with insufficient exercise, according to figures by the Central Bureau of Statistics.
In the Dutch Healthcare system, each adult pays the same premium for basic health insurance, regardless of age, health or risk of disease. If more than a half Dutch people think so, it might need to be changed.
