ID cards should be free

The Supreme Court has determined that municipalities may not charge a fee for the ID card.

According to the court, most people need an ID to be identified by police and other authorities; therefore, it is more to the state’s interests and the individual’s.

Local councils can only charge for service in greater interests of the individuals, like driving license or passport.

An ID card can also be used as a travel document but only in EU countries and if the applicant will use it that way is not determined objectively.
