Municipalities want more power to detect benefit fraud, according to Rinda den Besten, vice mayor of Utrecht.

Den Besten represents her fellow vice mayors in consultation with the ministry of social affairs on tackling fraud in benefits. She hopes that it is possible to link administrative assistance, housing administration and municipal tax.
