According to Ministry of Education, there will be 7 elementary schools participating a 3-year trial of flexible teaching and holiday time. The result of the trial will be used in the renewal of the rules of teaching time.

The new flexible time arrangement will make a positive contribution to a better connection between education and child care. The teachers will also have more room to make good use of their time.

The seven schools in the trial are: Laterna Magica in Amsterdam, De Sterrenschool in Apeldoorn, De Parapluschool in Ede, Bikube in Hoofddorp, De Casaschool in Pijnacker, De School in Zandvoort and De Sterrenschool in Zevenaar.

The schools must ensure minimal teaching time which is 7520 hours in the eight years of elementary school.
