Serious accident on A1 near Hoevelaken

A truck loaded with chickens caused an accident on the A1 near Hoevelaken. Ten cars were involved in the accident according to the police.

A child was seriously injured and sent to the hospital. The truck driver was trapped in his cabin for a long time and has been freed later.

There was morning fog on the A1, but it is not clear yet whether it was the cause of the accident, according to the police.

There are two lanes closed, hence a long traffic jam. Drivers are advised to take a detour via the A30 or A12.
