A toothless woman arrested for allegedly robbing a US bank told police she did it because she needed money to buy false teeth.
Police say the 49-year-old woman was captured on CCTV robbing the bank in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, reports the local Observer-Reporter.
She appeared to have no teeth in the video and reportedly told officers that was her motive for the crime.
Waynesburg patrolman Tom Ankrom said: "During her confession, she stated she wanted to use the money to pay for dentures she was unable to get through welfare until next year."
Police allege the woman handed a cashier a note asking for a specific amount of cash. The note also said she had a gun and warned the teller not to call police.
But one of the employees of the bank thought she recognised the robber as someone from her church and gave police her name and she was later arrested.
