Chinese restaurant received ‘hate mails’ due to menu in English

A Chinese restaurant in Hasselt, Belgium received dozens of hate mails because their menu is in English. Kevin Bamps of the restaurant thinks that the emails are from the Flemish extremists.

One of the emails states, “we do not need people like you here in the beautiful Flanders. Let this be a warning.” Bamps has reported to the police.

He works for the chain restaurant Lucy Chang, which wants to evoke an atmosphere of authentic Asian noodle shops from Shanghai, where people speak Chinese and English. “Therefore, we chose English for the profile of our brand,” according to Bamps.
