Katendrecht, a small peninsula, had received the first group of Chinese people in a large number due to the strike of Dutch seamen. There used to be the largest China Town at the beginning of 20th Century and blocks with thousands of Chinese residents.

Undeniably, there have been scums of the Chinese communities. However, there have also been a number of Chinese elites from Katendrecht. Fong-Leng, the "Fashion Queen", is one of them. Another one is my interviewee-a Chinese doctor who has been elected as the best lung doctor in the Netherlands
