Hybrid entrepreneur is emerging
According to the Chamber of Commerce on studies of the “hybrid entrepreneur”, one in eight entrepreneurs has an additional job besides a company.
The Chamber of Commerce attributes the emergence of hybrid entrepreneur to the Internet. It is enough for people who have a computer to offer service and there is no need for a real store.
Many people who started a business still keep their jobs because they want financial security. Health insurance or a pension plan could also be additional reason for them to have a job. Sometimes, the employees just think the entrepreneurship is just fun.
Hybrid entrepreneurs are common in the wholesale and retail trade, where they often start an online store. There are also many hybrid entrepreneurs in ICT.
A large majority have a company in a different industry than the job. About 40 percent have the ambition to become a fulltime entrepreneur.
