The European Investment Bank (EIB) has invested €560m in projects in the Netherlands in the first six months of this year.

That is €60m more that during the same period in 2010.

Like last year, most of the money - €400m - has been invested in small and medium-sized businesses.

The EIB also put €150m into a project to improve the national electricity grid on behalf of grid operator Tennet, which is state owned.
