The Chinese telecoms giant Huawei has confirmed that they are in talks with Microsoft about their use of Android software.

Microsoft claims that the Android system infringes their intellectual property rights. They have already convinced Samsung, HTC and others to pay them for the patent royalty fees.

Victor Xu, the chief marketing officer of Huawei said the discussions are still “in progress”. He also revealed that the company plans to launch a new design centre in London. The Shenzhen-based firm says it plans to expand into the US, Japan and India next year and after that, the other parts of the world in 2013.
